Sy is survived by his wife Carol Lipper; son Neil Lipper and his wife Karen; daughter Adrianne Phelan; daughter-in-law Ellice Lipper and Brian; brother Martin Lipper and his wife Florence; grandson Daniel Lipper and his wife Alex; granddaughter Morgan Gonzalez and her husband Nicholas; granddaughter Meg Lipper and her partner Michael Ergas; granddaughter Stephanie Watts and her husband Michael; and five great-grandchildren: Avery Watts, Ryan Watts, Sloane Lipper; Mason Ergas; and Santino Gonzalez.
He was predeceased by his son Steven Lipper in 2005; brother Carl Lipper; and his parents David and Gussie Lipper.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Beth Israel Cemetery in the Temple of Israel Mausoleum Chapel, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095 from 11:00 am to 11:30 am followed by the committal. All guests are asked to meet outside the cemetery office at 10:30am.
Shiva will be observed at the residence of Sy and Carol on Sunday after services until 8:00pm and on Monday and Tuesday from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
