Oh my !  I was in need of a good attorney for legal documents for my disabled husband and I remembered Sherri from about 20 years ago.  I immediately felt relief Becuz My
Memory of our past dealings left me feeling confident that I now did not need to worry Becuz she would definitely handle it and ai trusted her.  Well I started looking for her number only to find out that she is no more.  To her family and friends,  I am sooo sorry for the
Loss.  She is irreplaceable in the community.  May she rest peacefully with the angels.

I was going to refer a longtime friend of mine who is a major celebrity daughter who is need of a very good social security lawyer and I am living in Hawaii now and I noticed an article stating she had passed. 
I am so sorry for your loss .. please know she was my hero back in 2004 after my  near fatal car accident in 2000 and TBI weren’t really common or known about back then and she got me my social security benefits and was the best advocate and I admired her tenacity and willingness to tackle a complicated case .. I am eternally grateful for her .. it’s been almost 20 years but I still have her card and documentation from her. 
I didn’t realize she was only a year older than me because she was very professional and wise and so passionate in her work . 
Please accept my condolences and know she made a lot of lives better and is such a blessing.. my heart goes out to you all.

Sheri was the best. I owe her everything.

I just found out about Sheri’s passing. I am shocked and saddened. Sheri literally helped to change my life for the better. She has helped my mother as well. I send healing thoughts to her family. I know she was very proud of her son, Andrew. 

I'm so very sorry to hear of Sheri's passing! Her work with the disability community was so important and she was instrumental in guiding many families through a variety of legal issues which affected us. Rest in Peace, Sheri!

I just learned of Sheri's passing today.  She was my attorney in a case conducted in 2004. 
Sheri was so compassionate during our first meeting. She carefully walked me through the steps she would follow in presenting my case.  It was successfully completed in her capable hands in a few months. 
I continued to receive her newsletter via Facebook since I moved from VA. Many times I forwarded them to others because of her good advice. 
My sympathy to each of  you. She is a bright star I will never forget.
May her memory be a blessing to you all! She made such a difference in so many lives!

I can't believe this world has lost such a generous, knowledgeable and and good person.  My sincere condolences to her son and family.
I met with Sheri 4 times over the course of maybe 5 years.  The first where she gave me 30 minutes of free employment guidance at NMSS in Washington DC, the second an hour talk at a church in Vienna and a third time with my Support group in Loudoun County.  Shari volunteered her legal advise for these 3 meetings!  And she sent out entertaining and informative newsletters every month.  Again, this world has lost a generous and resourceful woman.

Sheri generously visited the Loudoun County Multiple Sclerosis Support Group helping us to confront employment and financial challenges with  crucial information and empathy. It is impossible to know exactly how many people she impacted and inspired in our group because her insights have been and continue to be shared by those of us who were fortunate enough to meet her. Her memory and legacy are a blessing. My sincerest condolences to her family and community




My heartfelt sympathy and most sincere condolences in the devastating loss of Sheri. I just now learned of her passing and am deeply saddened. Sheri was instrumental, at the very least!, in my life and for my future. She was a kind, powerful, professional, empathetic, wise woman who shared generously. Sheri would freely give her time to volunteer at local MS Society meetings and help us with Social Security, estate, and proactive actions to help improve our lives. She was also a wonderful resource within the legal and disabled community and most of all, Sheri was a woman of integrity. I will always be thankful for your love and care in my life, Sheri! Thank You Lord! My prayers are with Sheri’s family and may you be comforted in His Love. 

My children's futures are so much better because of Sheri.  I hope that you sustain some comfort knowing that I will be forever grateful that Sheri was a part of our lives. Sheri's compassion and excellent advice sustained me through difficult times. During our last meeting she spoke so lovingly and proudly of Andrew.  Sheri will always be remembered by the many she touched so deeply.

The Developmental Disabilities Program at PWC Community Services is just learning of Sherry's death.  We extend our sympathies to the family. My team & I just found out that Sheri's passing. Everyone at ABRAMS LANDAU was dumbstruck. Sheri was a wonderful friend,  lawyer, advocate and teacher. We were neighbors in the same building on Random Hills Road, & shared the podium at the VTLA CLE program for Social Security disability practitioners. As a fellow BU Terrier, we had lots of overlapping things to talk about. Just learned of Sheri's passing. It was a pleasure working with Sheri even as recent as last month. She's going to be missed not only in our close-knit community of attorney's in the Estate Planning area of the law in Virginia, but overall as a real pioneer and advocate as she truly enjoyed what she did for a living and always put others before herself.

Sheri has been a friend and a colleague for many years.  I remember going to the services held for Andrew when he joined the family, and a very silly baby shower.  Sheri could be counted on for good counsel.  She will be missed.

I first encountered Sheri in conjunction with the Northern Chapter of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.  I think she did a CPE session for our members.
She had a style all her own - personable, knowledgable, approachable.  Special, different.  Definitely enjoyable.
Over the 6-8 years since, I've heard from her a few times - sent a client or two her way, and vice versa.

My condolences go out to the Abrams Family.  Sheri was a great attorney, and she will be missed.

Andy, Howard, Arlene and family,
I am deeply saddened by your loss of Mom, daughter and sister.  Although we had lost touch, I still carry our memories of being in Guatemala together.   When your Moms, Sheri & Sarah, came to Guatemala to adopt you, they were absolutely beside themselves with joy & love!  The smiles on their faces.  I remember Sheri knocking on my apartment door while carrying you in a carrier on her chest.  When I opened that door, Sheri's smile stretched literally from ear to ear!  On another trip to Guatemala, I remember the first time I met you, Andy,  you were just 6 months old.  You had the biggest, brightest eyes & a darling smile.  Your Moms brought us an ornament for our tiny Guatemalan Christmas tree.  Each year, I place that ornament on the tree & I am reminded of our special times together. The ornament will have new meaning now.  I remember you playing with Trey & Darby twice a week - the laughter, toys, playgrounds & wagon rides.  I remember family dinners & birthday parties with your family.   You 3 friends had sleep overs, splashed in baths, drove Thomas the Tank engines all over your track table, played in swimming pools, sent balloon messages to your Mom, Sarah, & so many more memories.  Sheri & Sarah were the glue to my family when all of you were little.  Andy, your Moms loved you even before they knew you.  Your Moms delighted in sharing the joys of watching you pass through each phase of life as your grew older.  Please ALWAYS remember that you, YOU, were cherished & adored!!!  Your grandparents thought you were better than sliced bread!  They thought you walked on water!  Your Moms have been taken from you when you are far too young.  Your journey ahead of you continues to be full with promise and adventure.   I know you will always carry a piece of them with you in your heart as I do.   Be strong!  Be you!  Feel loved, Andy! I was so sad and sorry to hear of the loss of Sheri. She was a funny, smart, interesting person and I always enjoyed talking to her. She was a deeply devoted mother who always put her son first. I will miss her and I send my sincere condolences.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Sheri's passing. We met when she was thinking of running for political office. We had so much fun and laughed so much I was amazed Starbucks didn't ask us to leave. She became my go-to person for people who needed legal advice for their differently-abled children. Sheri may you rejoice in everlasting love with Sarah.   I remember getting the kids together to play when they were so young.   Andy was Darby’s first boyfriend.  They would snuggle and lick each other’s foreheads when they were only a few months old.  We spent hours just watching our babies and sharing laughs.   May you rest now.  

I remember when Sheri and her partner Sarah were in Guatemala City to finalize the adoption of their son Andy. How proudly Sheri presented him to me and two friends, also in Guatemala City for the adoption of their children. Sheri and Sarah had realized their dream of becoming mothers, and Andy was the lucky recipient of all the love they had to give him.  I am heartbroken that now Sheri has passed, and Andy has lost both his Mimi and his Mother. 

May Sheri's memory be a blessing.

Sheri - you used your prodigious mind as a great driver for our community  -  the people of the little bus.  Thank you! May the road rise up to meet you. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. 

The first time I had lunch with Sheri, I could not stop laughing.  We met at Hard Times Cafe in Fairfax City back in 2008.  She had an excellent sense of humor.  In addition, we both had sons born in the same year so we always had common things to talk about: summer camps, the IEPs, middle school, high school, driving lessons, college applications.  Sheri was easy to talk with and to be around.  I will miss her.  I send my condolences.

To say I was stunned upon hearing of Sheri's death is an understatement.  My deepest condolences to her family and close friends.  She was such a knowledgeable asset to the disability community and was always helpful.  I think one of the first times I met her was at a Circle of Support Conference in Woodbridge and she was giving a presentation to families.  We connected at various events over the years and most recently I sought her guidance myself.  Her death is a huge loss for all of us who knew her.  

Sheri was a funny, caring friend who loved her Sarah and Andy with her whole heart.  She used to make me laugh as we worked together for people with disabilities.  She helped many others get their lives back by helping them secure their benefits.
