Born in Brooklyn to the late Jacob and Ida Birnbaum, he was a Personnel Director for the Internal Revenue Service. He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War, and a longtime member of Congregation Beth Ohr, Old Bridge.
Surviving are his loving wife Eileen, his devoted children Lisa Rindner and her husband Marc and Jason Birnbaum and his wife Alissa, and his 5 cherished grandchildren Danielle, Sophie and Max Birnbaum and Ethan and Erik Rindner.
A funeral service for Sidney will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, followed by burial at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ.
The family will observe shiva at their residence on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 following the burial and on Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
