She was fearless in the face of adversity and always by her children's side.
She never put anyone above her children.
Ankica was born January 1st, 1953 in the city of Banja Luka, former Yugoslavia, where she lived happily as a young woman with big dreams and strong family values.
She married Milivoj Ancic and they welcomed five children; Dario and Mario Ancic (Twins) , Marjana Ancic-Perez, Anita Tevanian and Boris Ancic. Her oldest son, Dario Ancic, passed 11/20/2020 after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. The death of her oldest son broke her heart and we believe the heartbreak contributed to her early and unexpected passing.
Ankica and her five children settled in Manchester NH in 1996 as refugees having fled during the Yugoslavian civil war. They arrived with one plastic bag of clothes and gratitude for safety. Ankica was fearless and always worked to provide for her children.
She was employed by Aramark as a school custodian for over twenty years. She was affectionately given the American nickname "Anna" by the many teachers and coworkers she befriended. She was lovable and easily loved. Her home was humble and full with seven grandchildren visiting on a daily basis.
The grandchildren included Mateo, Ivan, Leonardo, Landon, Magdalena, Kristian and Max.
Ankica was filled with joy whenever she was with her grandchild. In her eyes, they could do no wrong and any mess they created was forgivable.
She welcomed family and friends with a warm cup of coffee, homemade pastries and a welcome seat at the table. She celebrated all of her children and grandchildren 's achievements yet had the courage to bear their sorrows.
She passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 9th, 2022.
Ankica will be deeply missed today and everyday.
