
Barbara A. Smyrl, 85, of Manchester died April 10, 2011 at the Elliot Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Manchester on March 17, 1926 the daughter of Carroll and Stella (Wylie) Bailey and resided in Manchester all of her life.
She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Central High School. Prior to her retirement she had been employed for more than twenty years by Sylvania.
Mrs. Smyrl enjoyed reading and cooking as was very talented in crocheting. Above all else, she cherished her family as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by three daughters, Lynda Pelletier and her husband James of Candia, Patricia Dulac and her husband Robert of the Villages, FL and Cynthia Griffin of Manchester; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother Robert Bailey and his wife Marjorie of Kittery Point, ME; a sister, Dorothy Anthony of Manchester; nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband William E. Smyrl in 1991, a daughter, Donna Soucy and a grandson, William Soucy.
Calling hours were on Monday from 4 to 7 PM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. and on Tuesday from 10 to 11 AM in the funeral home . A funeral ceremony followed at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in Barbara’s name may be made to the Elliot Hospital Pulmonary Rehab Program, One Elliot Way, Manchester NH 03103. .
