Carolyn Louise Underwood

Carolyn L. Underwood, age 89, passed away unexpectedly on January 29, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Wilton, NH, she later moved to Manchester, NH where she raised her four children with her husband, Ralph. After achieving her nursing degree, she served as a Registered Nurse for Elliot Hospital and Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, FL. She loved being a nurse, but her real focus and passion was raising her family and helping with the family business, New England Antenna Service for over 35 years.

Carolyn’s family moved to Bedford in 1977 and continued to help with the family business. Her nursing skills came in handy with family members as needed and her gentle nature and patience came in handy while managing business calls. Carolyn and her husband enjoyed traveling and flying, even managing to learn how to fly and land her husband’s Grumman Tiger airplane as a “backup pilot.” Carolyn was a gentle, humble and unselfish person. She was an excellent listener and her silly laughter could keep us laughing for several minutes. She was a lovely person and will be loved and missed by all of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph of 59 years in 2016. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Kim Gordon, Gary Underwood and wife Ann, Carl Underwood and wife Laura, Glen Underwood and wife Sharon, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

The Underwood family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support during this difficult time. Private services will be held.
