
Doris E. Pichette, 95, died January 9, 2014 at the Villa Crest Retirement Center surrounded by her family. She was born on July 4, 1918 in Birmingham, England the daughter of George and Annie (Davis) Mitchell.
Doris met her husband Jean-Louis Pichette when he was stationed in England during World War II. The two were married in England and she immigrated to the United States shortly after the war. She lived in Manchester, NH for the past 60 years. She was predeceased by her husband Jean-Louis who passed away in 1970. Doris will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Members of her local family include her four daughters Louise Burke and her husband Dan of Lincoln, Elaine Lanoie of Manchester, Margo Sheridan of Bedford and Pauline Pichette of Manchester, her two sons Paul Pichette of Manchester and Louis Pichette and his wife Nancy of Auburn, her 10 grandchildren and her 6 great-grandchildren, as well as close family in England.
In accordance with her wishes, there will a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Doris’ name can be made to Danny’s Team, a charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals who are differently-abled at PO Box 606, Durham, NH 03824.
The McHugh Funeral Home in Manchester has been entrusted by the family with her care.
