

Born in Manchester on February 14, 1927, she was the daughter of Richard and Marion Carrigan and resided in Manchester throughout her long and fulfilling life. Gloria was an avid reader with a quest for knowledge. She spent time in Florida and went on many wonderful vacations around the United States and Europe, instilling a love of travel and adventure in her children. She taught her family to have a great work ethic, values and to enjoy life. Her generosity, strength, love and kindness will live on in the lives of her family and many friends.
She was a graduate of St Joseph High School for Girls in 1944. She later obtained her nursing degree from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She went on to become a Registered Nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital in Manchester until her retirement in 1975. She then was heavily active in various civic and charitable initiatives acting as President of the Catholic Medical Center Associates, a board member of the Visiting Nurse Association of Manchester and Southern NH, and a key volunteer at the Manchester Soup Kitchen, the League of Women Voters, and Hospice Care.
Gloria is survived by her dearly loved husband of 36 years Attorney William H. Craig; and her children Susan Brown and her husband Don of Nashua; Robert Walsh and his wife Jeanne of Tucson, Arizona; Gail Chop and her husband Walter of Brunswick, Maine; Sally Pick and her husband John of Valencia, California; Robin Harding and her husband John of Manchester; and Michael Walsh and his wife Lisa of Manchester. She also leaves four step-children, Attorney James Craig of Manchester, Patricia Barstow and her husband Tom of Windham, Paula Goetschius of Stratham and Joseph Craig of Auburn. She also leaves behind her 22 beloved grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a sister, Sr. Marian Carrigan of Windham.
She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Marion who passed away in 1958 and 1966, respectively, her sister Dorothy Horan who passed away in 2007; her first husband of 24 years Robert Walsh, who passed away in 1972; her daughter Mary Eileen who passed away in 1964 and her grandson Michael Craig who passed away in 1993.
She leaves us with a legacy of love and amazing memories. She was a wonderful wife, mom, Nana and great Nana who we all dearly loved and respected....”you will live forever be in our hearts.” Our memories of her will be cherished.
Calling hours were Monday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover Street, Manchester. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday December 27th at 10:30 a.m. at St Catherine of Siena Church, 207 Hemlock Street, Manchester.
