

Mary C. Byrne, 88, of Manchester passed away in the early morning hours of December 19, 2012 at the Villa Crest Healthcare Center following a brief illness. She was born in Manchester on July 29, 1924, the daughter of James F. and Mary E. (Bresnahan) Byrne.
A lifelong resident of Manchester, she was educated in the local parochial school system. Prior to her retirement in 1988, Mary had been employed for 42 years by New England Telephone Company as an administrative assistant. She was a member and secretary of the Telephone Pioneers.
Mary was a communicant of the former OLPH parish and of late, St. Pius X parish. She was a devout Catholic who lived her faith every day. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor with a kind and generous spirit. Mary will be greatly missed.
Family members include a brother, James F. Byrne and his wife Marion (Fecteau) Byrne of Naples, FL; nephews, Jay Byrne and his wife Peggy, James Byrne and Devin Byrne, all of Leavenworth, KS; niece Leslee Greene and her husband Randy of Boston, MA and their children Arthur Greene, Harry Greene, both of New York City and Eliot Greene a student at Brown University in Providence, RI. She was pre deceased by a nephew Matthew Byrne.
Calling hours were on Friday from 4 to 6 PM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday at 9 AM in the Shaw Memorial Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford followed by interment in the family lot in the cemetery.
