Mary T. Ward Fish

She was born to the late Patrick and Teresa Ward on June 20, 1928 in South Boston, MA. Mary grew up in a close family of eight children including: John, Pete, Steve, Joseph, Mary, Bridie, Michael and Thomas.

Mary is survived by her daughter Patricia Scroggins of Dallas, Texas, her son Joseph Fish of Dallas, Texas, her son Ron Fish and his wife Ingrid of Merrimack, NH, her seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, her brother Thomas Ward and his wife Yolanda of Sun City, AZ as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by her late husband Jehial Fish (1998), her son Gerald Fish (2009) and her daughter Mary Fish (2012).

Mary attended Nazareth High School (Saint Brigid Parish) in South Boston. She married the late Jehial Fish in 1950 and they resided in South Boston, MA. Mary worked for several light manufacturing firms in South Boston before retiring from M. Steinert and Sons in 1993. Mary and Jehial were both charter members of the Castle Island Associates and continued to visit Castle Island for many years after relocating to Merrimack, NH in 1993.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday October 5 at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Mercy Church; 16 Baboosic Lake Rd. Merrimack, NH. Urn burial followed in Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack. A memorial luncheon was served after the funeral service in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Mary’s name be made to the United Way of New Hampshire 22 Concord St. Floor 2 Manchester, NH 03101. The McHugh Funeral Home has assisted the family with the arrangements.
