

Mildred F. “Bunny” Farrell, 85, of Manchester, died December 3, 2011 at the Elliot Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on April 26, 1926 in Manchester the daughter of James J. and Hazel (Purmort) Lynch. She was raised in the Queen City and was educated in the Manchester School System graduating from St. Joseph High School for Girls. She was also a graduate of the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse at the Elliot Hospital, the Visiting Nurse Association and as a school nurse in Candia however she always believed that her primary vocation was that of a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Bunny was very talented and enjoyed time spent with her needlecraft, knitting, crocheting and baking. She also loved her social gatherings with her many friends.
She was married to Henry “Chic” Farrell in 1947 and together they raised their family in Manchester before moving to Candia in 1974. She returned to Manchester in 2008.
Members of her family include her son Daniel Farrell and his wife Denise of Weare, her three daughters Mary Farrell of Bow, Maureen Farrell of Worthington, Ohio, and Jane South of Manchester, seven grandchildren Colleen and James Slattery, Adam Wojnowski, Jesse and Jaclyn South, Michelle Pasha and Diane Littlewood, six great-grandchildren and a brother James F. Lynch and his wife Judith of Nashua.
She was predeceased by her husband Henry Farrell in 2005 and by her brother David Lynch.
Calling hours were held on Saturday December 10, 2011 from 11AM to 1PM at the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. Manchester, NH followed by a Memorial Service in the funeral home chapel. A committal service will be held at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Bunny’s name to the Elliot Pulmonary Rehabilitation 185 Queen City Ave. Manchester, NH 03101.
