

Russell D. Maes, 64, of Webster, passed on to be with the Lord on January 21, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born on February 8, 1949 in Manchester the son of Joseph and Ruth (Gardner) Maes. Rusty grew up in the Queen City, was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Bishop Bradley High School where he was a member of the football team and St. Anselm College.
He was employed by the State of New Hampshire Health & Human Services Department and retired from the Division of Child Support in 2012.
Rusty was very active with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). He enjoyed reading, watching movies, cheering the Boston Sports Teams and was a Civil War enthusiast whose proudest achievement was when he visited Gettysburg. He was an excellent cook who loved entertaining his family, friends and neighbors. He made many lifelong friends with his quick wit and sense of humor and will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
Member of his family include his soulmate and friend Diane S. Hill of Webster, his three sons Joshua Maes and his wife Racquel of West Yarmouth, MA, Conor Maes and his wife Susie of Dennisport, MA, and Padraic Maes of South Dennis, MA, his daughter Cara Maes of South Dennis, MA, his six grandchildren Cort Maes, Samuel Maes, Posey Maes, Henry Maes, Sienna Maes and Olivia Maes, his brother Kevin Maes and his wife Deborah of Rumney, his sister Maura Maes-Baker of Salinas, CA, his special cousins Richard and Cheryl Gardner and Maureen and John Fitzpatrick as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday January 25 from 10 to 11:30AM at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester followed by a Memorial Service in the funeral home. A Committal Service was celebrated held on Monday January 27 at 11AM in St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel.
