He was born in Manchester on September 5, 1925, the son of the late Roland and Sarah (Farnham) Smith. He was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School for Boys.
Prior to his retirement he had been employed as a truck driver by Holmes Transportation. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Smith was a 60 year member of Sweeney Post, American Legion and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #5260. He had served as an usher at both OLPH and St. Joseph Cathedral parishes. He had owned and enjoyed antique cars.
Family members include his wife, Mariette (Payment) Smith of Boscawen; two step daughters, Susan Gardner of Concord, NH and Elaine McIntyre of Griffin, GA; a step son David Boisvert of Houston, TX; 6 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
