Betty D'Ambrosia

Alberta (Betty) D’Ambrosia (Manturi) passed away peacefully Thursday, October 6, 2022. Betty was born in West Orange, NJ in 1929. Betty was one of ten children born to Patrick Manturi and Concetta Lombardi Manturi. On May 20, 1950, she married Anthony (Sonny) D’Ambrosia. They lived in Orange, NJ, before settling in Toms River in 1966. Both Betty and Sonny were members of Saint Joseph Church in Toms River. Betty was a Eucharistic minister serving many nursing homes throughout the Toms River area. She was also a member of the St. Joseph Rosary Society. Betty was a homemaker who loved to cook and was a great baker. Betty and Sonny enjoyed their yearly trips to Maine, spur of the moment visits to Atlantic City and dining at The Smithville Inn.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Sonny and is survived by her three children, Lori (D’Ambrosia) Hunt and her husband James; Anthony (Nick) D’Ambrosia and his wife Pam; David D’Ambrosia and Sue D’Ambrosia. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Nicholas and his wife Hikari; Katie; Elizabeth and her fiancé Rich; David and his wife Bridget; James and his fiancé Rachel; Becca and her fiancé JJ. Her great grandchildren whom she adored-Elvis, Romeo, Angelina and Lilith. Betty is also survived by her sister Jeanne Kernan of North Carolina, Patrick Manturi (her oldest nephew) who was raised as a brother, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday October 14, 2022, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9am, on Saturday October 15, 2022, at St. Joseph Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08753. Entombment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Mausoleum, 62 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River, NJ 08753.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Betty’s memory.
