

Donald Allan Powers, age 96, of Toms River, NJ, entered into Glory Thursday, March 23, 2023 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Paterson, NJ, he lived in Paterson and Little Falls moving to Toms River 55 years ago. He was a World War II Navy Veteran where he served honorably as a Plane Captain, maintaining the aircraft. Later, he worked in electronics and was a Wireman 1st Class. He retired from New Data Corp. in Little Silver, NJ. He was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Toms River and sang in the choir there for almost 50 years with his beautiful tenor voice.
He loved reading, history, hunting, deep-sea fishing, singing, family gatherings, story-telling and good food, especially his wife’s baked goodies!
He is loved and missed but we will see him again, Praise God!

He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Margaret Powers; his brother, Richard D. Powers; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Surviving are his loving wife of over 71 years, Alice Powers; His sons, Allen Powers and daughter-in-law, Kathy of Boise, ID; Gary Powers of Manchester, NJ; David Powers of Manchester, NJ; daughter, Linda Powers Bowlin of Toms River, NJ and daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Kevin Heller of Robbinsville, NJ
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held June 10th at 11:30 AM at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 1528 Church Road, Toms River, NJ
