Edward W. Janssen Jr.

Edward W. Janssen, Jr., age 90, of Whiting, New Jersey passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Edward was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. He lived in Roselle and upon his retirement he moved to Lake Wallenpaupack, Greentown, PA, before moving to Whiting. Edward had worked as a butcher and meat manager for A&P Supermarkets for 43 years before his retirement. He was very into Lionel Trains, enjoyed watching his team, the NY Giants, playing softball and going bowling. He also enjoyed being out on his boat with his family, taking the grandkids tubing and creating many memories at the lake house. But what Edward loved the most was spending time with his wife and family.

Edward is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Frieda Janssen, his dear children, Edward W. Janssen, III and his wife Gail, Richard P. Janssen and his wife Lisa, David Janssen, Susan Wilson and her husband Tim and Carolyn Caporaso and her husband Joe, his cherished 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, with one on the way. He is also survived by his siblings, May Moore, William Janssen, Dorothy Stark and Robert Janssen. Edward was predeceased by his parents Esther and Edward W. Janssen, Sr., and his siblings, Donald Janssen, Jane Eimont, Marilyn Bell, and Kenneth Janssen.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation for Edward will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 1 to 4 PM, with a funeral service to take place at 3:45pm, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. Private cremation to follow.
