

Joe was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 30, 1931 and attended Murray Hill HS in Manhattan specializing in woodworking. He worked for Modern Age Furniture as a carpenter right after high school and later for NYNEX as a frame room technician after his service in the Armed Services until his retirement in 1989. He served from January 1952 to January 1954, as an active duty member of the US Army during the Korean War, and later transferred to the reserves for 6 years. For his service, Joe was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Joe was married to Mae DiFranco in 1961 and they had three children. They lived in Brooklyn before retiring to Leisure Village West in Manchester, NJ in 1992. Known for his good sense of humor and woodworking skills, Joe will be remembered fondly by his friends and family.
Joe is survived by his daughter Roseann Martin and son-in-law Rick Martin of Castle Rock, CO; daughter Claudia Perchinelli of Tucson, AZ ; son Joseph Perchinelli and daughter-in-law Ellen Perchinelli of Lido Beach, NY; and grandchildren Kevin, David, Anthony, Michael and Aiden and his sister Carmela Farrell of Kings Park, NY. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Mae; his parents, Rosina and Ruggerio; and his brother, Vincent.
A funeral and memorial service will be held in honor of Joe on Saturday, October 21 at 12 noon at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester, NJ 08759. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at 1:30pm at St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, One Honey Locust Dr, Lakewood, NJ 08701. A luncheon will be held at 2:30pm at Cafe Napoli, 1027 Rt 70 Manchester, NJ 08759.
