

Joseph Simon, age 86, of Manchester Township, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, two weeks to the day that his beloved wife Claire had passed. They would be celebrating their 62nd Wedding anniversary 12/21/2023. Joseph was born in Nadasdladany, Hungary on September 22,1937. He emigrated to the United States in 1956. Joseph proudly served in the United State Army from 1958 until 1961 and had been stationed in Germany. Joseph also received his naturalization papers in 1962. He worked for PSE&G for 45 years as a Chief Lineman and retired in late 90’s. Joseph and Claire lived in North Brunswick for many years before moving to Manchester in 2001.
Joseph was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Clara Elizabeth Simon and his son Robert J. Simon. He is survived by loving son, Bill Simon and his fiancé, Stacie Roberts, his cherished grandchildren; Christine Bowen and her husband David Bowen, Joseph Robert Simon and Joey Hendershot; his great grandchildren; Robert Joseph Simon and Alex Bowen, his nephew, Alex Fleischer and daughter in law, Sandy Mancino.
Joseph took pride in his family, his home, and his friends. He loved his garden and his plants outside. He would spend hours taking care of them. He also loved to spend time with everyone especially his great grandson RJ and tell him stories from when he was growing up in Hungary and how he was finally able to get admittance into the U.S. Army. RJ could sit for hours asking him questions and listening to stories.
Private cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to be sent to the Gary Sinese Foundation or The Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
