

Marylou M. DiStefano of Jackson, NJ died peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold. Born Marylou Bittner in Lakewood, where she graduated high school, married and started her family. She had moved to Jackson in 1996. Marylou is a devout Roman Catholic who contributed much of her time calling bingo at St. Mary's Church. She was employed at Walgreen's as a Senior Beauty Advisor, and truly enjoyed her career. When asked about retirement, she would just laugh and say "It gives me something to do."
Marylou has 3 children, Anthony E. DiStefano of Jackson, Tim DiStefano of Acadia, FL, Marylou Schuller of Brick. She was honored to have the opportunity to welcome into this world 3 grandchildren, Jesse DiStefano, Rebecca DiStefano and Tyler DiStefano, who all resided in Jackson. She was extremely pleased with the newest addition to the family her great-granddaughter "Addyson Renate DiStefano." Marylou had many people dear to her, but no one more special and important then her daughter-in-law, Doris DiStefano. When Doris and Anthony married, Marylou had gained a daughter. Marylou enjoyed cooking, sewing, and being on the go. She will truly be missed by all her family and friends.
Visitation will be at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood on Friday, March 16, from 6-9 pm and on Saturday, March 17, from 10:30 am until 11:15 am. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, 12 pm at St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, Lakewood. Burial to follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
