

Michael Burdick, 72, of Cape May Court House, NJ, formerly of Toms River, passed away on June 17, 2023. Born November 27, 1950 in Newark, to Rita and Roy Burdick, Mike grew up in Laurence Harbor. On November 17, 1984 he married Connie, his wife of 39 years. They lovingly raised two sons, Paul, and Brian. Mike received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering. He later received his Masters +30 from Trenton State and Georgian Court College. He was one thesis away from his doctorate. Mike was a high school math teacher for many years. He shared many fond stories from his times coaching cross country, track, and wrestling. He retired from Freehold Township High School.
Mike was an all-around car guy and Corvette enthusiast. He enjoyed going to many car shows with his son Paul and their Corvettes. Mike also shared a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles with his wife Connie. He and his whole family would go riding together. Mike and Connie have been going to Sturgis yearly for well over a decade where Mike enjoyed riding in the Black Hills of South Dakota. While raising his sons, Mike was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts where he was proud to see both his sons achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. When Mike was younger, he enjoyed fishing with his father Roy and Uncle Robert. But what Mike truly enjoyed was spending time with family.
Mike is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Paul and wife Mandy, and Brian; his cherished granddaughters, Cecilia and Iris; sister, Kathe Fisher and husband Russell; his Uncle Robert Burdick and wife Judy; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Rita Burdick and his beloved Aunt, May Simeone.
A memorial gathering celebrating Mike’s life will be on Friday June 23, 2023, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759, from 4-7 pm, with a funeral service to take place at 5:30 pm.
