

Ralph J. O’Rourke, 91, of Manchester N.J. passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, December 4, 2022. Born in 1931 in NYC, Ralph joined the United States Air Force after graduation from High School. He met his beloved wife, Cynthia, while he was stationed at Sculthorpe Air Force Base, England in 1954. Married in 1955 in Kings Lynn, England, Ralph and Cindy moved first to Far Rockaway, NY, then to Smithtown, Long Island NY where they raised their three children along with many dogs, cats, a turtle and an iguana.
A lifelong Teamster, Ralph was always the champion of the poor and the working man. They moved to Manchester, N.J. in 2005, where Ralph was beloved for his volunteer work helping those in his community with transportation to stores and appointments. He was the “mayor” of his street, often watching over other’s homes when they were absent. Ralph was predeceased by his beloved wife, Cynthia; his sisters Ann, Eileen, brother Brian and his niece Patricia. He is survived by his children, his daughter Maureen O’Rourke and her husband Ken McDaniels of Manchester; two sons, Terry O’Rourke, of Gig Harbor, WA, and former daughter-in-law Maria O’Rourke of Gig Harbor, WA ; and Dan O’Rourke and his wife Shannon of San Francisco, CA; six grandchildren, Tracey Churray (and her fiancée, Karen Schoellkopf) of NYC, NY, Matthew O’Rourke of Seattle, WA, Ryan and Charlie O’Rourke of Gig Harbor, WA, Evangeline of Sacramento, CA, and Langston O’Rourke of San Francisco, CA; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends are invited to call from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Thursday, December 8th at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, N.J.
