Rita Sheehan

Rita Sheehan, 82, of Manchester, NJ, passed away on Monday March 9, 2015, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. Born in New York, NY, Rita lived in Jackson and Point Pleasant before moving to Renaissance in Manchester 15 years ago. She worked for Bell Labs in Holmdel, NJ for 18 years. Rita was a Lector at Saint Peter’s RC Church in Point Pleasant and was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister for Saint Luke’s RC Church. She was a volunteer for the Renaissance Auxiliary Unit of Kimball Medical Center as well as a volunteer for Meridian Hospice. She was a member of the Renaissance Golf Club. Rita especially enjoyed her time reading and playing Mahjong with her friends. Her quick wit and sincere smile will be greatly missed by everyone she touched.

Rita is survived by her devoted husband, best friend, golf buddy, travel partner and love of her life for 63 years, John Sheehan, her beloved children and their spouses; John and Donna Sheehan, the late Stephen Sheehan, Susan and Ken Reed and Maureen and Scott Neuner. She will be missed by her grandchildren Kristen (Nick), Brynn (Glenn), Johnny (Nina), Maureen (Joe), Emily, Susie, Billy, Sarah and Julie and her great grandchildren Gianna, Nicky, Ava, Joey, Jimmy and Delaney. She leaves behind many cherished friends especially her loving and life long friend Jill Viggiano.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday March 12, 2015, from 1-5 pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester, NJ 08759. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday March 13, 2015, at 9:15 at Saint Luke’s RC Church, 1674 Old Freehold Rd., Toms River, NJ.
