Robert H. Lewis, 91, of Whiting passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Shore Meadows Nursing Home, Toms River. Born in Englewood, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a driver for UPS based in Newark. A very generous man to all, he had a special affinity for animals and gave many donations to various animal charities.
He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine M. Lewis in 2004. Surviving are a daughter, Catherine Lewis of Manalapan; three stepchildren, Geraldine Cavazzini of Manalapan, Patricia Maxwell of Long Island, NY and William Fitzgerald of Manchester; 14 step grandchildren, Maria McGinnis, John Fitzgerald, Philip Fitzgerald, Steven Fitzgerald, Catherine Fitzgerald, Andrea Rosario and Joseph Fitzgerald, all of NJ, and Craig Cavazzini of CT, Christopher Cavazzini, of NJ, Dawn Miller of NC, Ann Marie Maxwell of Long Island, NY, Richard Maxwell, Jr., of Long Island, NY, William Fitzgerald, Jr. of NJ and Eric Fitzgerald, also of NJ; a niece, Jacqueline Lewis and a nephew, Mitchell Lewis.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester.
