

Robert M. O’Connor, 80, of Manchester, NJ, passed away Saturday November 3, 2012, at Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood, NJ. Born in Newark and lived in Old Bridge for 56 years where he was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He moved to Manchester in June of 2012. He was a Directory Advertising Salesman for NJ Bell for 38 years. Robert served in the United State Army during the Korean War from 1952- 1954.
He is predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Cecelia O’Connor, his sister Helen Stark and brother William O’Connor.
Surviving are his wife of Angela nee Salerno, two daughters, Maureen Redmond and her husband Gerard from Jackson, Catherine Johnson and her husband Thomas from Manchester, seven sons, Thomas and his wife Kathleen from Pine Beach, James and his wife Kathryn from Robbinsville, Robert from Mt. Laurel, Michael and his wife Sue from Jackson, Timothy and his wife Jill from Jackson, Christopher and his wife Margie from Barnegat and Joseph and his wife Robin from Howell, twenty five grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Robert enjoyed nature and loved animals, and his favorite past time was spending time with his children and grandchildren at his vacation home “Papa’s Cabin” in the Endless Mountains in Pennsylvania.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 6, 2012, from 5-8 pm, at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. Family and friends are invited to the funeral service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday November 7, 2012, at 9 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10am at Saint John’s RC Church 619 Chestnut St., Lakehurst, NJ 08733.
