

Barbara Ann Phillips, 85, passed on Sunday January 10, 2021, at Hampton Ridge in Toms River, NJ, and Robert S. Phillips, 88, passed away on Monday January 11, 2021, at his home in Manchester, NJ. Barbara and Bob were both born and grew up in Jersey City, NJ, and they resided in Union for 51 years before moving to Leisure Village West in Manchester, NJ. Married for 65 years, they were both parishioners of Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church in Toms River, NJ.
Barbara had worked in banking for a few years before working in purchasing for PRI which was a shipping company in Port Elizabeth. Barbara was a kind soul and was so often seen smiling.
Bob is a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He had worked as a draftsman for Westinghouse in Jersey City for 25 years before he retired in 1980 and he then continued to work for Randel Mfg., in Hillside, NJ, for 10 years. Bob always liked to stay active. Bob was a true gentlemen and always had kind words about everyone, to know him was an honor.
Bob and Barbara were predeceased by their son Robert F. Phillips. They are survived by their devoted son David A. Phillips and his wife Jamie, of Howell, NJ, his loving grandchildren; Anthony Phillips of Howell, NJ, Amanda Pratt and her husband Michael, and Deanna Silverstein and her husband Bradley. They are also survived by Barbara’s sister Joan Feeley and her husband John, and her dear nephews Tommy Wybolt and Jackie Wybolt.
Visitation will be held on Monday January 18, 2021, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ, from 3-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday January 19, 2021, at 10 am, at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 Saint Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ, 08757. Interment to follow, with Military Honors for Bob, at the Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River, NJ, 08755. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
