

Albert S. Rose, 84, died unexpectedly Sunday May 1, 2005 at his home. Albert was born in Ashtabula, OH on December 12, 1920 to Amelio and Mary Massaro Rose. He was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church where he was the head usher, American Legion Post #16, Madison Chapter of AARP, Richland County Marine Corps Detachment 527 and sponsored several children through the Christian Children's Fund. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Word War II. Albert retired from Therm-O-Disc in 1983, and was an active lifetime member of their Sportsmens Club. Albert greatly enjoyed cooking for others and lent his hand to such functions as the American Legion Post #16 fish frys, Therm-O-Disc Sportsman's Club wild game dinners, St. Timothy functions, the Special Olympics and the Marine Corp. Group to name a few. Albert was known for his delicious spaghetti sauce and for the ships he crafted.
He is survived by two daughters, Debra Knee, and Nancy and Ron Howell of Mansfield; granddaughter, Angela and Ryan Parker of Lexington; grandson, Andrew Knee of Mansfield; sister, Delores and Merle Crites of Wooster; three brothers, Samuel Rose, Raymond and Florence Rose, and Richard Rose all of Wooster; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beulah 'Boots' Rose in 1994, brother, Paul Rose, and sister, Angelina Ghiradelli.
Friends may call at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Director Tuesday May 3, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Services will be held at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Bonnie Peltomaa will preside. A military burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
