Anna L. Bishop, 98, of Mansfield, died Tuesday evening, January 8, 2008 at Crystal Care Nursing Home. Born June 10, 1909 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Michael and Eva Pilk Bapka. She retired from Westinghouse Corp. and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She was a member of A.A.R.P. and loved taking care of her flowers, watching birds and being outdoors.
She is survived by a brother, Joe Bapka of Lexington; sister, Martha Buis of Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew J. Bishop, parents and sisters, Catherine Mergel, Mary Esterline, and Helen Deschner.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
