
Born in Europe on May 21, 1921, to parents of Hungarian descent, Anna J. Mandusic came to the United States when she was only 10 days old. She passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her family settled in Mansfield, Ohio, where she resided until 2001, when she moved to Indianapolis. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in January 1940. During World War II, she worked at Westinghouse aiding in their war production efforts. Anna retired from the Ontario School System after 15 years of service. She also worked for several years on part-time basis at Papa's Gondola Restaurant and enjoyed being part of their wonderful family. She is remembered for her incredible sense of humor and many stories. She was a dedicated and loving mother.
On February 3, 1945, she married Sam Mandusic, and although he preceded her in death in 1962, her love for him never died. She also was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Matilda Konves; an infant brother; her friend since childhood, Helen Traikoff; and numerous relatives and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine M. Finley and son-in-law Jeffrey A. Finley of Indianapolis; her nephew, Roy Mandusic of Mansfield, Ohio; and her sister-in-law, Alice Hunt of North Fort Myers, Florida.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Harcourt Terrace formerly Waters of Greenbriar and personal caretakers, Cathy Baker, Jennifer Pillion-Walker, Mary Young and Julee Bjerke, for their loving care of her during the past several years.
Funeral services will be held at Monday, January 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Her cousin, the Reverend Christine Bell of Rural Chapel in Galena, Ohio, will officiate. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Home for Friendless Animals, P.O. Box 217, Waynetown, IN 47990.
