Anne Ernestine Emanuel

A homemaker, she was a member of the Hayesville United Methodist Church. She was known as the built in dictionary for her family and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and fishing. She loved eating out at Chinatown Restaurant and enjoyed watching and laughing at comedies. Anne was a caring and loving person who loved her granddaughter immensely as she brought great joy to her life.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joe Emanuel; her children, Joseph Emanuel and his partner, Thomas, John (Kathy) Emanuel and Beth Emanuel; a granddaughter, Maggie Carrington; a sister, Mary Ellen Davis; two nephews who were the sons of her heart, J.J. (Amanda) Bittinger and Mike Bittinger; and six additional nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Vermillion Cemetery, Hayesville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mifflin Township Volunteer Fire Department.
