
Annie Pearl Cobb was called home at the age of 78 to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2009 after a extended illness. Annie Pearl was born August 15, 1930 to the late Robert Earl and Mittie Brooks, Sr., in Aliceville, Alabama where she resided until the age of 20. She relocated to Mansfield. Annie Pearl was married to Lonell Cobb for 33 years. She was employed by the Board of Education for three years, L&K Restaurant for three years, Geauga Plastic in Crestline for two years, Cab Company for nine months, and retired from Ideal Electric after 25 years. She was a very faithful member of The New Community Temple COGIC for 45 years. She served as the church mother until the Lord called her to her rest. Mother was a prayer warrior. When all were asleep in her home, she would be up praying. She enjoyed fishing and cooking, but most of all she enjoyed going to her church.
She leaves a great void in the lives of her family; eight children, George Penny Holmes, Sr., Nathaniel Bradley, Martha Bobby Loyd, Georgia Ann John, Sr. Cobb, Shirley Osborne, Betty Cobb, all of Mansfield, and Minnie Mark Johns of Columbus; two brothers, Robert Earl Brooks, Jr., and Otis Brooks, Sr., both of Mansfield; two sisters, Willa Mingle of Lithonia, Georgia, and Queen J.C. Gardner of Valdosta, Georgia; 33 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, and friends; and special friend and care giver, Ms. Ernestine Jefferson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Willie Earl Bradley, Sr.; three grandchildren, Bobbie Ann Loyd, Spencer Cobb, and Raymond Osborne; one brother, James Brooks; and two sisters, Tina Brooks, and Mary Thomas.
Homegoing services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Community Temple COGIC conducted by Rev. Henry Bradley. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. The family will be receiving company at 501 Tingley Ave. until the day of the homegoing services beginning each day after 1 p.m. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Annie Pearl Cobb.
