

Annie Ruth King, 76, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born in Mansfield on March 8, 1947 to the late George “Billy Red” Jordan and Pauline (Holt) Smith.
Annie loved to work and retired after 35 years with F.E. Myers in Ashland. Family was a focal point in her life and she was the oldest of 23 children. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining and had an amazing ability to make people laugh. She also enjoyed attending events at the Senior Recreation Center. Annie loved her flowers and kept the most beautiful garden. Playing cards, reading and watching movies were favorite pastimes. Most of all, Annie had a deep love of the word of God.
Annie leaves to cherish her memory her children, Annine (Tony) Catchings, Pauline (Savon Jones) Parks, Chemille King and Lee Williams; “honorary daughter”, Tarias Smith; five step-children, Letha Sykes, Doris King, John Lee Vaughn, Ollie Jr. (Terri) King and Brenda King; eight sisters, Mary McAllister, Aurelie Smith, Ismar Ramsey, Cathella (Kenny) Tye and Renee Jordan all of Mansfield, Minnie King of California, Arcine (Duane) Poole of Maryland and Mada Smith of Virginia; nine brothers, Archie (Jane) Smith, Jeffrey, Henry G., Tawn, Jahime Smith, David Jordan, Zemmia Spears all of Mansfield, Christopher Jordan of California and Arteus (Corrine) Smith of Georgia; aunts, Carol Ann (Charles) Reed and Shirley Jordan of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Patrick Sherman, Troy Smith, Kiana Willis, Mé Nawsha Parks, D’anzio Jackson and Jody Jackson; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Creola Bragg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Thelma Franklin, Rosalind and Vanessa Jordan; and brothers, Godfrey “Butch” King and George Jordan.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services by Wappner, 1327 Ashland Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44905. A memorial service will follow beginning at 12:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
