
Anthony Eric Merkle, 34, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Born September 19, 1974, in Shelby, he was the son of Roger and Marilyn King Merkle. He was a 1992 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. He had previously worked for Papa John's and Infocision. Anthony loved spending time with his family, especially spending quality time at home with his fiance, Heather.
Surviving are his mother, Marilyn King Merkle of Mansfield; two sisters, Gloria Max Martin of Mansfield and Melinda Mark Cartwright of Malverne, England; his fiancé, Heather Ramsey of Mansfield; a niece, Emily Martin; a nephew, Max Timothy Martin; an aunt and uncle, Nancy and Tom Schwall of Shelby; cousins, Christopher and Andrew Schwall and Jessica Pamer; and his fiance's family, John and Roxann Ramsey of Galion; Stacy and Shawn Newton and their children, Sydney and Zachary of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Merkle; his maternal grandparents, Larry and Ruby King; and his paternal grandparents, Carl and Margaret Merkle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2009, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Mansfield, OH 44902 conducted by Pastor Larry Collins and Pastor Jeff Gray. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Monday.
