Atha Joy Elliott, 72, of Mansfield, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness. Born April 10, 1934, in Grahn, Kentucky, she was the daughter of William and Letha Ingerham Adkins. She attended Diamond Hill Cathedral church services at Twin Oaks Nursing Home. Atha enjoyed being with her grandchildren and embroidery.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tony Elliott, Eugene and Jean Elliott, all of Mansfield, and Gary and Sue Church of Michigan; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda and Allen Jarrell and Connie Elliott, all of Mansfield; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clell and Alvin Adkins.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, April 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home officiated by Rev. Russ Stanford. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 28 at 1:00 p.m. in Easterling Cemetery, Olive Hill, Kentucky.
