Barbara Massey

Barbara Ellen Harlow Massey, age 66, of Mansfield, died Sunday morning December 14, 2003 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Massey was born September 27, 1937 in Eskdale, Cabin Creek West Virginia to William and Lana Bell Harlow and was a Mansfield resident since 1970. She was employed at Designed Metal Products for 17 years before her retirement in January of this year. She never forgot the kindness shown to her by her co-workers during her illness. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 36 years, Darrell Massey, her daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Dennis Vanorman all of Mansfield, two grandchildren, Autumn and Arielle Vanorman, sisters and brother-in-law, Ann Buzzard of Ohley, West Virginia, Marie Roberts of Charleston, West Virginia, Evelyn and Cecil Roberts of Miami, West Virginia a brother and sister-in-law, Tom and bonnie Harlow of Ohley, West Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Massey was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ruth Harlow, Margarete Thomas, Edythe Marshall and Helen Totten and brothers, Frank, Bill and James Harlow. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday. December 16, 2003 from 5 to 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. Dale Adkins of the Mansfield Baptist Temple. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
