Barbara Joan Oglesbee

Barbara Joan Oglesbee, age 89, of Mansfield, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Arbors at Mifflin. She was born July 6, 1935, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Joseph H. and Ruth N. (Grabler) Foncannon.

Barbara retired from Neer Manufacturing after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Mansfield Liederkranz. An active member of Hope Lutheran Church, she helped with breakfast at the church for several years. Barbara had a soft heart and was an amazing caregiver, often taking her friends to hair cut and doctor appointments. She enjoyed sewing. She was an avid camper, spending her summers at Lake Mariah.

She is survived by three children, Harvey (LuAnn) Oglesbee, Robert (Sally) Oglesbee and Patricia (Jeff) Helms; five grandchildren, Heather Oglesbee, Mark Oglesbee, Nicholas Helms, Angel Oglesbee and Richard Oglesbee; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Jenette “Corky” Foncannon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Oglesbee Jr. and Mark Oglesbee; a sister, Elaine Mitch; and a brother, Richard Foncannon.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond St. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Private burial will take place in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County.
