
Barbara J. Schonauer, 72, of Mansfield, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Alter Care of Bucyrus. Born September 19, 1935 in Dayton, she was the daughter of Timothy and Helen Banes Long. She was a member of First Church of the Open Bible. Always putting her family first, Barbara enjoyed flowers, playing the piano for recreation, and attending church. Barbara was a bus driver for Lexington Schools and Mansfield Christian School. She was very involved with her duties as a pastor's wife in the Open Bible organization with her husband, Rev. Robert Schonauer for the past 55 years.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Rev. Robert H. Schonauer; three children, Carol Osburn, Mark Schonauer, both of Mansfield, and Juanita Michael Thompson of Galion; eight grandchildren, Robert Jr., Schawn, and Eric Osburn, Shawna and Christopher Schonauer, and Megan, Stephen, and Brandon Thompson; four great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Skylar, Robert III, and Ava Osburn; and foster children, Teresa McCall of Urbana and her daughter, Nori Fesse, and Richard Craig. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home conducted by Dr. John D. Freeman. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
