

Benjamin Paul Pahlow, 84, died the morning of September 13, 2002 at Saint Ann's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Falls City, Nebraska on November 6, 1917 and grew up in Sedalia, Missouri. Ben served his country honorably during World War II as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps. He worked for 29 years for SCM Corporation as a service manager for north central Ohio. He also drove a school bus for the Madison School District for 10 years. Ben was stoic in adversity, practical and hardworking. He was always willing to provide help and support for his loved ones, even at great personal sacrifice. Ben loved reading his newspaper, American food and enjoyed gardening. He was a member of Diamond Hills Baptist Church and was a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Catherine, who passed away January 14, 2002. He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Herbert and Polly of Pembine, Wisconsin, Mark of Seattle, Washington and Scott of Galion, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Nicholas of Marengo, Ohio, Sarah of Rockford, Illinois, Lily and Julia of Seattle, Washington, Benjamin of Romeoville, Illinois, Rhoda of Kingston Springs, Tennessee, and Jason of Greenleaf, Wisconsin.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services that will be held Monday, September 16 at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Christopher Thomas. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
