She was born in Kentucky to the late Evert and Mary (Mosier) Bledsoe. She married Lloyd Blevins and together they had three children, Phillip (Flora) Blevins of Perrysville, Ohio, Lloyd "Button" Blevins and Marilyn (Jim) Owens of Mansfield, Ohio.
Bertha also leaves behind six grandchildren, Jala, Sandy, L.T., Rich, Trelena, and Kristy; six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Cody, RyLea, Remington, Colton, and Grace; two great-great-grandchildren, Dawson and Khloee; three sisters, Susie Blevins of Mansfield, Ohio, Evelyn Greenhill Clark of Grayson, Kentucky, and Emmy Barker of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and brother, Kenneth Carroll of Mansfield, Ohio. Along with several nieces, nephews and many loved ones. Preceding her in death were her parents; and several brothers and sisters.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, her brothers and sisters in the Gospel Assembly Church of Mansfield. She was a simple but wise lady with no need for fancy things. Her greatest joy in life was serving the Lord and loving her family. She was always willing to lend a hand; whether it was to sew on a button, hem a pair of pants, or seam down a dress, but the things she was noted for the most was her beautiful crocheted artwork and at Christmas time her famous homemade caramel corn. Our lives will never be the same but she is at rest and no longer suffering.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 12:00-1:00 pm at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Brother Don Stallard and Brother Daniel Baer officiating. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. The family request memorial contributions be made to Gospel Assembly Church, 1100 S. Trimble Road.
