Betty Fry

Betty J. Fry, 85, of Mansfield, died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born August 30, 1927 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Leo and Mae (Eckstein) Hoover. Betty graduated from Madison High School in 1945 and worked as a bookkeeper at The Farm Bureau from 1945-1968. She was a lifetime member of First English Lutheran Church and was active with various women's groups, The Wednesday Weekly Luncheon, and other volunteer services.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William W. Fry of Mansfield; son, Douglas A. (Bonnie) Shaw of Powell; and grandson, Ryan Douglas Shaw of Powell. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford Shaw.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Andrew Jones. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First English Lutheran Church.
