

Brenda J. Thomas, 63, of Ontario passed away Friday morning, August 10, 2012 at her home. Born February 8, 1949 in Ashland, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Howse Russell and Margaret (Eastham) Harris.
Brenda worked at MedCentral Hospital with 37 years of service. She was a member of Lincoln Heights Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, and encompassed the true meaning of being a Christian woman by putting others, especially her family, before herself. Brenda was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She enjoyed traveling, taking many cruises and vacationing in Myrtle Beach. Brenda’s other passion was going to the theatre or catching a live show.
She is survived by her husband, James Thomas; daughter, Belinda (Tom) Lonergan; stepchildren, James (Stacy) Thomas, Jr., Keith (Cheryl) Thomas, Aaron (Misty) Thomas, Aaron (Holly) Camp; two grandchildren, Corinne and Cole Lonergan; twelve step grandchildren, Taylor, Tory, Trace, Keith, Sara, Emily, Olivia,, Kaleb, Kendal, Taylor, Nicholas and Maria; brother, Billy Ray (Charlotte) Harris, Sr.; six sisters, Susie (Jack) Bowling, Betty Guarini, Edna (Don) Vires, Fannie (Curtis) Click, Anna Mae McCarty and Lois (George) Davis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Herfurth.
A funeral service will be held in Ashland, Kentucky at the Steen Funeral Home. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to assist the family with local arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home for cancer research.
