

Bruce A. Patterson, 70, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born August 21, 1948, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Lester and Martha (Wentz) Patterson.
A lifelong resident of Mansfield, Bruce graduated from Mansfield Senior High School. He retired from AK Steel where he worked as a welder after 30 years of service. He then went to work for the Ashland State Highway Patrol as a maintenance man for a few years. In the 1970s, he was a professional flat dirt race track driver.
Bruce loved the Lord and was ready to go home to Him. He was a member of Cook Road Baptist/Mission Point Church. In the 1980s, Bruce was a minister at the jail. He loved his family and set a wonderful example of a Godly man. One of his biggest enjoyments, was riding his Harley.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Deb Ward Patterson; son, Ryan Patterson (Tiffany Householder) of Lexington; granddaughter, Hayley Patterson and her mother, Melissa Patterson of Shelby; a sister, Pam Patterson of Ontario; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A memorial service conducted by Pastor Jack Hackworth will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mission Point Church.
