
Carl Denzil Hunt, 74, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at his home. Born July 1, 1935 in Morgan County, Kentucky, he was the son of Ott and Carmie Frances Stamper Hunt. Carl moved to Mansfield in 1955 and was the owner and operator of Denzil Hunt Building Contractors. He was a member of Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church. A very generous man, Carl enjoyed bringing food to his friends and loved animals. He enjoyed playing his banjo and guitar, and singing. Carl also built many homes.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy Hunt of Mansfield; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Hunt and her friend, Doug Caudell, Leona and Darrell See, and Riethie Hunt, all of Mansfield; grandchildren, Brian Hunt, Tonya Gerich, and Shawna Lay; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Carter, Alexandra; brothers and sisters-in-law, Luther and Pauline Hunt of Ashland, and Cecil and Rosetta of West Liberty, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Bonnie Delores Hunt; son, Larry Hunt; grandson, Mark Shane Black; sisters, Nellie Lewis, and Mattie Cassity; and brother, Richard Hunt.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Virgil Masters and Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett with calling from 12 to 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Springmill Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
