Stevens, 94, of Lexington, passed away late Monday evening, April 4, 2016, at Lexington Court Care Center. She was born December 25, 1921, in Minnesota to the late Oscar and Christine (Lund) Prestguard.
Carol retired from Hartman Electric. She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Loyal, generous, and kind are the best words to describe Carol. She was a lady in every sense of the word and was devoted to her family, always putting their needs first.
She is survived by a daughter, Christine Diehl of Lexington; grandson, Steve (Hillary) Diehl of Lexington; three step grandchildren, Patrick Diehl, Jr., Heather Diehl-Todd and Kendra Diehl Cuadrado; three great-grandchildren, Timothy "TJ", Ryan, and Jacob; six step-great grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel, Austin, Jessie, Nadia and Joshua; many nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and her Kroger family who affectionately referred to her as "Grandma".
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry V. Stevens; parents; and sister, Mildred Vang.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Pentti Maki officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family at the funeral home.
