

Carolyn was the daughter of Byron and Naomi (Chapman) Thompson. She was born on February 22, 1930 in Mansfield, Ohio. Carolyn worked as a legal secretary for Attorney Roger Morrow. She was a faithful member of Resurrection Parish. Carolyn and her husband loved to travel together, and when he passed their love for traveling was shared with her daughter, Patty, and they traveled the world together. Carolyn enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and playing bridge. Her granddogs, Rocky and Mocha, were special companions who loved her dearly.
Carolyn leaves behind her children, Thomas (Michelle) Gross of Cocoa, Florida, Rebecca (Robert) Householder of Jeromesville, Ohio, Patricia Gross of Orlando, Florida, and Daniel (Carmen) Gross of La Grange, Illinois; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Gross of Fontana, California; her grandchildren, Adam, Alexi, Eliza, and Christopher (Faye) Gross and Steven (Sasha) Brewer; and her great-grandchildren, Hunter and Savannah. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Gross; and her son, James Gross on December 17, 2020.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Ave. Lexington, Ohio 44904. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the American Diabetes Association. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
