
Charles A. Davis, 90, of Mansfield, died Sunday, December 16, 2001 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Davis was born in Sycamore, Ohio on October 18, 1911 to Jacob Estey Davis and Clara Lucile Peck Davis. He grew up and attended high school in Kingsville, Ohio and later graduated from Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland. He was employed by M.A. Hanna Mining Co. in St. Clairsville, Ohio for seven years and then by Ohio Brass Co. in Mansfield, Ohio, from which he retired in 1976 after 36 years of service. Mr. Davis was a member of Venus Lodge #152 F & AM, past High Priest of Mansfield Chapter #28, member of York and Scottish Rite Bodies, Al Koran Shrine in Cleveland, and Baku Grotto. He was also a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Tucson, AZ.
He is survived by his wife, Nedra Davis; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Debra Davis of Solon, OH; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Davis wife of Vernon A. Davis; one step-daughter, Kay Grant of Mansfield; three stepsons and their wives, Jerry & Carol Beabout of Bridgewater, VA, Robert & Karen McWilliams of Mansfield, and Jack & Charmaine McWilliams of Escondido, CA; three grandchildren and their spouses, Scott & Michelle Davis, Kelly & David Grumny, and Kim & Tim Hetrick; and five step-grandchildren and their spouses, Brent & Julia Beabout, Melissa & John Lidonice, Bethany & Mike Castillo, Nedra & Robert McPhail, and Tracy & Brant Fetter; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Cedar and Rosamond Jacobs; one brother, Stanley Davis; two wives, Dorothy Parsons Davis and Mary Shanabarger Davis; one son, Vernon A. Davis; and one great-grandson, Kyle Grumny.
