

Charles Thomas Foley, 79, of Mansfield, formerly of Apache Junction, Arizona where he spent the last 10 years, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born February 5, 1934 in Pentress, West Virginia, he was the son of Hunter Brown and Thelma Matilda (Wright) Foley.
A veteran of the United States Army, he retired from Bremerton Shipyards in Bremerton, Washington in 2002 after 15 years of service. He started playing instruments at the age of four ~ playing the mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass and piano. He played in a band with his brother and sisters ~ The Foley Quartet ~ playing to raise money to purchase war bonds for World War II. Later in life, he was a member of the band "A Touch of Class". He enjoyed baseball, especially the Seattle Mariners and Cleveland Indians.
He is survived by three sons, Duane P. (Lisa) Foley of Mansfield, Brian K. Foley and Scott A. (Carrie) Foley both of Tacoma, Washington; three grandchildren, Charles Foley, James (Molly) Richards and Christina (Josh) Linz; and two great grandchildren, Alice Richards and Gwenyth Linz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mildred (Robertson) Foley on April 2, 2004; a brother, Lonnie Foley; and two sisters, Louise and Alta.
