

Charles E. "Chuck" Weaver, 93, of Mansfield, died October 30, 2015. Born June 15, 1922 in Columbus, he was the son of Charles and Mayme Weaver. Chuck lived in Mansfield all his life and was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School class of 1941. After high school, Chuck went to work for Westinghouse as a Machinist. With the start of WWII, he enlisted in the Army and served several years in the South Pacific, later returning to Mansfield to work at Westinghouse for 42 years before his retirement. A 55 year member of Boy Scouts of America, Chuck earned the Silver Beaver Award for his many years of community service. In his free time, he volunteered at Toy Time, collecting toys year-round for 22 years and also volunteered at homeless dinners at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed camping at Eagle Point for many years with his wife, Virginia. Chuck was dearly loved by everyone, a mentor to the scouts, a "Neighborhood Goodwill Ambassador", and a very giving man.
Surviving are his children, Judy (Charlie) Thompson of Lucas and Gary (Vicki) Weaver of Columbus; grandchildren, Dustin (Leigh Ann Miller) Claypool of Atlanta, GA, Krista Thompson of Lucas, Kevin (Carrie Toth) Weaver of Portland, OR, and Kent (Becky Williams) Weaver of Chicago, IL; great-granddaughter, Aleah Jean Marie Thompson; and step-granddaughter, Toni Martin.
Along with his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Virginia (Garrison) Weaver.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. An additional hour of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Toy Time, 280 N.
