Mr. Charles 'Youngblood' McFarland Jr., age 73 of 760 Burns St. died Thursday evening, August 29, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a prolonged illness. Charles went home to glory at 9:05 p.m. May God Bless. He was born December 28, 1928 in Fort Pillar, Tennessee living in Mansfield for 57 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army for 12 years serving during the Korean Conflict. Charles belonged to the Road Runners Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Lois Crook of Wooster, Ohio, Orlando and Michelle McFarland of Mansfield and Alfred and Yuvelle McFarland of Westland, Michigan; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Polly McFarland of Mansfield; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rebecca Morgan McFarland, Sr., three brothers, and four sisters, all of whom have gone home to glory.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, September 5, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Verdell E. Larson.
