
Chloe-L. ''Pat'' Paterson, 80, of 925 Brookfield Drive died Tuesday evening, September 18, 2001 at SCCI at MedCentral Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Paterson was born June 23, 1921 in Milburn, Oklahoma living in the Mansfield area most of her life. She retired from Ideal Electric after 27 years. Mrs. Paterson was an active member of Mayflower Congregational Church. In 1965, she and her husband Charles began a ministry of gospel music to nursing homes in the area as well as in other states. In 1980 a puppet ministry was added. She was often referred to as ''the puppet lady.'' Mrs. Paterson was involved with Reach to Recovery through the American Cancer Society where she received the Courage Award.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles Paterson of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce & Robert Kirkendall of Mansfield; two grandsons, Mark Kirkendall and his wife Stacy of New Albany, Ohio and Matt Kirkendall of San Diego, California; two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Katelyn Kirkendall; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey Stickney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Theda & Wayne Hubbard of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bonita & Bill Woodruff of Garland, Texas, Connie McDonald of Lewiston, Idaho, and Coye & Sonny Dutton of Grand Prairie, Texas; and a dear friend, Helen Weber of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, James & Lella Braisher Williams; and a brother, Mondell Williams.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Dr. Gary Wilson. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial expressions may be made to Mayflower Congregational Church.
