Chris S. Scaggs, age 90, of Mansfield, Ohio, died Saturday December 25, 1999 at home after an extended illness. Mr. Scaggs lived in Mansfield since 1943. He retired from Westinghouse in 1972, and was a member of Hanley Road Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Mae Belle Scaggs of Mansfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Pam Scaggs of Lexington, Ohio; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Charles Oswalt of Decatur, TN, Monta Mutter of Lake Milton, Ohio, Christie and Stan Butler of Mansfield, Ohio, and Norma and Frank Jacobs of Mansfield, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Palmer of Christianburg, VA, and Ruby Hall of Ashland, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents Sol and Mahaley Riley Scaggs; and four brothers Frank, William, Charles, and Everett Scaggs.
Friends may call at the Diamond St. of Wappner Funeral Directors on Monday from 6-9p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00a.m. at the Hanley Rd. Baptist Church 590 W. Hanley Rd conducted by Pastor John Burghard and Bro. Jim Harris. Burial will be held in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hanley Rd. Baptist Church.
